JOB TITLE:

Shop Foreman / Journeyman Mechanic

LOCATION:

Rancho Cordova, CA

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage all aspects of maintenance for a fleet of equipment and vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement a maintenance program for all equipment and vehicles.
  • Shop Coordination. Typical tasks: keeps inventory of parts and supplies; requisitions parts and supplies as needed; coordinates flow of equipment awaiting maintenance or repairs.
  • Provides direct guidance to lower-level auto mechanics who may assist with major repair work.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and occasional plant facilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of industrial construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments as needed.
  • Be familiar with and have a working knowledge of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, generators, air compressors, gas and diesel vehicles.
  • Occasional requirement to deliver/pick up equipment from worksites.
  • Take immediate actions to eliminate safety hazards in the work area.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5 years of journeyman-level automotive mechanic’s experience diagnosing and performing a variety of complex repair work on automobiles, trucks, or industrial equipment.
  • 2-3 years of shop foreman and/or leadership experience.
  • Good attitude and the ability to be a leader in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Basic computer skills (word, excel, etc.) required.
  • Have excellent mechanical and analytical ability.
  • Experience in construction equipment preferred.
  • Ability to complete basic repair on welding equipment.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Able to operate oxy/acetylene torch, arc weld, MIG and TIG experience a plus.
  • Valid CDL (class A) a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mobility to work in an auto mechanic environment; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Adequate vision for driving and reading written materials.
  • Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull.
  • Lift, and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weights.

  • Parts ordering and invoice submission
  • Time sheet completion and submission
  • Maintaining and updating equipment logs and service records
