HMI Industrial Contractors Renew WBE and MBE Certificates
Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise and Minority Business Enterprise
Sacramento, California – August 17, 2021 HMI Industrial Contractors, the leading industrial contractor in the West since 1991, today announced the renewal of their Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Certifications. HMI is the only WBE certified Millwright company in California.
“We treat our WBE and MBE certifications as more than just a renewal of status,” said Andrea D’Angelo, VP of Business Development, HMI Industrial. “They are a celebration of the fulfillment of an industry need, especially focusing on larger projects with Federal funding, incentive or influence.”
A Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) is defined as one that is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled on a daily basis by one or more female American citizens. WBEs are certified by a third-party, city, state, or federal agency. Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) are entities that are at least 51% owned and/or controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individual as described by Title X of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 7601 note), and Public Law 102- 389 (42 U.S.C. 4370d), respectively.
Eligibility for these certifications is tightly controlled and must be maintained at all times. Should there be any changes in ownership or control, WBE and MBE certifications must be renewed within 30 days.
